Prince Edward Island
Prince Edward Island is Canada's smallest and greenest province. Cradled on the waves of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Island is known for the vivid colours of its gently rolling landscape. Prince Edward Island is surrounded by miles of sandy beaches and red sandstone cliffs and is sized just right for touring. Visitors to the Island return home not only relaxed and refreshed - they often claim to have been transformed, which leads us to wonder "What if the World Had Been to Prince Edward Island?"
Adventures
- The Island is known for its excellent windsurfing conditions. Any afternoon when the breeze picks up, cars loaded with boards and sails can be seen heading out to the many access points around the Island.
- Get out your bikes, or drop into one of the bicycle rental shops in PEI, for the Island is made for cycling. From multi-day tours to a couple of hours on a woodland trail or along the roadside, bicycle transport is the way to see the Island up close. The Confederation Trail is a first-class trail that connects the Island from tip to tip. Built on abandoned railbed, the trail is flat and safe - why not take the whole family on a bicycle tour?
Shopping
Inspired by the images of our, landscape, Island artists and craftspeople create hand-stitched quilts, pottery bowls, intricate woodworking and woven tapestries. Dozens of shops, from quaint to sophisticated, are dotted across the Island.
